Treatment Approach & Techniques

Treatments at the Clinic are based on a multidisciplinary expertise and a multi-system approach to brain function. They aim to restore function in dysfunctional brain circuits and to support the body’s normal healing systems. This is done through a customized series of gentle stimulations. For example, one of the stimulation techniques used targets physical nerve endings in the ear. These nerve endings are shown to connect to specific areas in the brain.

This approach achieves faster recovery and rehabilitation from incapacitating symptoms using procedures designed to address the origin of the condition.

Treatment Characteristics and Related Facts

  • Time after trauma does not affect treatability
  • Recoverability gain / responsiveness
    • Assessed prior to treatment
  • Assessments measure & differentiate
    • Intact but unresponsive neural “circuits”
    • Damage
  • Age
    • Does not affect recovery pattern
    • Patients range from 3 to 80 years old
  • Chronic, plateaued, post traumatic conditions
    • Longstanding conditions – average of 2-4 sessions a week for a minimum of 3 months, to make use of neuroplasticity
  • Both physical and emotional symptoms
  • Recent (acute) health issues
    • Often involves only few treatment sessions over days/weeks
