Treatment Approach

NeuroKinetics treatments focus on functional recovery: improvement in ability to move, to think, stamina, sleep, reduction or elimination of symptoms and flashbacks. Success can still be achieved whether the event was 3 days ago, or 30 years ago.

The NeuroKinetics treatment approach aims at supporting the brain to heal the body and related mental components.

To do this, we need to identify whether the health condition is

  • Acute or chronic
  • Related to damage or dysfunction

This is initial identification is accomplished during the Suitability Assessment.

The Approach – Brain as Focus

This integrated approach to trauma recovery was initially developed by Philippe A. Souvestre, MD, CEA Neuroscience (France), during his PhD studies on brain controls, neuroplasticity, and functional restoration and while serving as a Flight Surgeon for the French Air Force.

Various clinical applications included assisting combat and test pilots in their demanding missions as well as helping international elite athletes recover faster after various types of injury leading to chronic physical and mental issues. Later on, this approach was extended to trauma patients from various paths of life and age.

The brain is built to keep track of and coordinate physical and cognitive function (ability to think). Overwhelming experiences or physical accidents can cause some of the “circuits” to shut down, like a circuit breaker in a house – the breaker turns off a circuit when there is an overwhelming surge of current so that it protects the rest of the system. In this case, it is a surge of sensory, emotional, or cognitive data.

We refer to the shut off circuits as “dysfunctional” – the wiring is still good, but the circuit is off. This is separate from “damaged” circuits – the wiring and/or the circuits are physically damaged. We target to treat the dysfunctional circuits by turning the switches on again by sending gentle, specific stimulation (data signals) to the targeted area.

We often receive patients with previous medical diagnoses indicating irreversible damage when this is not necessarily the case. Our assessment methods allow us to distinguish finer levels of damage versus treatable.

Treatment programs for chronic conditions

Long time and chronic complex health conditions respond best to treatment targeted to restoring dysfunctional circuits in the brain. Idiopathic conditions, or diseases without a known cause, also respond well to this treatment. We aim to reset the areas in the brain which enable healthy function in the body.

Treatment programs are a minimum of 3 months to allow for the brain’s neuroplasticity to gain results and remember the good state. The more complex the condition, and therefore with more “layers” of symptoms, usually require additional time to satisfactorily address.

For persons on Long Term Disability, this would be the effective option to improve function, quality of life, and improve abilities towards Return to Work.

Treatment programs for acute conditions

Acute conditions are recent injuries or symptoms. Therapy blends of Eastern and Western medicine to create an effective treatment which can speed healing of a variety of issues by supporting the body’s natural healing processes.

Excellent results for sports injuries. Treatment can speed recovery time and minimize lingering symptoms for athletes and proactively assist in return to play.

Performance Enhancement

Performance enhancement is the same process, but done proactively and at a fine tuning level. The assessments simply highlight what additional capacity – either natural or due to minor dysfunctions – that can be optimized with therapeutic treatments to the sensory-motor coordination areas.
