Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple Sclerosis and Balance Problems

I was diagnosed with Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in 1996. My symptoms included dragging my left foot, poor balance, difficulty in walking, fatigue, occasional twitching of feet, stiffness and tightness of my left arm, poor circulation and varicose veins in my feet and legs. I was using a walker for stability.

The doctors told me that there were no treatments for my type of MS and that it would progressively get worse. By the time I first visited Philippe Souvestre in March 2004, my symptoms were considerably worse. Philippe gave me a Preliminary Assessment. He discovered I had a concussion several years ago from which my symptoms developed.

I have had several treatments over the last year. First of all, my circulation in my feet and legs greatly improved. Exercising regularly strengthened my legs as well as upper limbs, and now I am able to take a few steps without the walker. All my symptoms have greatly improved. Philippe has given me encouragement that I will walk again and that my life is back, especially since I was told there was no hope.
