Chronic Pain

  • NeuroKinetics are the best Neurophysiologists around and totally understand how the brain affects the entire body. He is the only medical practitioner who helped me. The results I received were within 2 weeks. Overall pain in body was significantly reduced and I have now been able to resume many activities.

  • When I was diagnosed by several physicians with SLE Lupus in January 1995 I thought my life was over. I had terrible joint pains and I felt like the tin man who needed to be oiled every morning before I could move. My sleeps were off, I was always tired, I had no energy and for no apparent reason I would wake up some mornings extremely sick with bronchitis, pleurisy or inflammations everywhere. Life seemed hopeless, living with all the pain and always being so tired. The medication I was prescribed made me nauseated all the time and throw up several times each morning.
  • Then in October 1998, my father in law told me about NeuroKinetics Health Services with Dr. Souvestre. At first I was skeptical because I was sick of doctors, not one really helped me much. But I thought, what the heck I have nothing to lose.

I started off slowly getting better and I was amazed how good I was feeling within 6 months of intensive treatment.

Now 2 years later I feel so much better. I go to the gym 6 times a week, I have 3 part time jobs and I look after my family which involves 2 children. I feel great, thanks to Dr. Souvestre who really cares and really does help. There is nothing better in life than good health.

  • Chronic PainI had been suffering over 20 years with excruciating head and neck pain, accompanied with severe muscle spasms in the upper back, shoulders and neck. I was taking multiple medications for pain and a muscle relaxant. I had seen every type of health professional I could find but without relief.

I visited Dr Philippe Souvestre, a medical doctor and neurophysiologist from France, in his Vancouver office in BC for the first time in 1999. After Dr. Souvestre’s initial assessment he was confident that he could help me, and I agreed to take the treatment program. He asked then, and several times later, if I had been knocked unconscious. However it was not until two weeks into treatment that I really remembered.

I was a professional football player with the Toronto Argonauts and later the B C Lions. During a game in 1974 I was “blindsided” and knocked unconscious. When I awoke, I had trouble standing and it appeared one side of my body was not responding. I then laid back down and was administered Smelling Salts. A few minutes later, I was helped up and everything seemed to be okay. It was fairly late in the season, and I kept playing, however I could tell something was wrong. The next season I made the team, but my play was not at the same level and I wondered why. I retired the next year.

Then slowly at first, there was pain between my scapulae, which was diagnosed as muscle spasm that was linked to increasing headaches over the years following my injury. The years passed by with increasing headaches and pain mostly located in the shoulders and upper back. By 1999, the pain had become excruciating, the muscle spasms were severe and I felt cold all the time. I had become overweight, irritable and lacked energy. I also believe I was suffering from mild depression.

My first treatment with NeuroKinetics brought immediate relief that I had not experienced. Within the following nine months of my treatment program there was tremendous improvement. My pain has been significantly reduced, I had much less muscle spasm, I felt warm again, my balance was much improved and I became much happier. My wife says that I’m a lot sharper, and I am able to work full time in two businesses in which I became involved since the end of my treatment two years ago.

I have found Dr. Souvestre a delight to work with, possessing a wonderful “bed side manner” mixed with a compassion to help his patients. He keeps working with his patients, always looking to solve their challenges, and quite frankly I’ve heard far more medical victories out of his office than any other. A big thank you to Dr. Philippe Souvestre, without whom I sometimes wonder if I would still be here.
